The 2nd intention survey report by Support to Life Association reveals that Syrian refugees' desire to stay in Türkiye is increasing; livelihood, housing, and children's education are decisive factors in their decisions.

Following the regime change in Syria in December 2024, the future plans of Syrian refugees living in Türkiye are being reshaped.

The research, conducted by Support to Life between August 25 and September 5, 2025, was completed in collaboration with local partner organizations Hevi LGBTİ, MOKID, ARSA, EKSI25, and Lider Kadın Derneği (LWA).

The report, prepared after interviews with 1,218 Syrian refugees over the age of 18 living in different cities in Türkiye, reveals the change in refugees' intentions regarding voluntary return and their basic humanitarian needs.

The report shows that refugees' plans for the future are closely related not only to security conditions in Syria but also to social integration, economic opportunities, and their children's education in Türkiye.

The report's findings reveal that refugees' future plans depend not only on political developments but also on the provision of dignified, safe, and sustainable living conditions.
