The ‘STL Information and Support Line’ helps people in need in Turkey amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic has increased humanitarian needs, and made new ways of delivering humanitarian assistance necessary. As an institution that is determined to access vulnerable persons, we have developed innovative ways of reaching those in need with continuous support. The Support to Life infoline and hayatadestek.online web site provide informative content to our beneficiaries despite the distance.
In order to ensure that particularly vulnerable people can access accurate information, the STL Information and Support Line, which is free of charge and accessible between 10.00-16.00 on weekdays, provides information and support in Turkish, Arabic, and Kurdish languages, responding to questions of people from all over Turkey. We also refer the people to relevant services when necessary.
We also help non-Turkish speakers access information on how to protect themselves from the coronavirus by distributing informative materials in addition to the hayatadestek.online web site with the relevant content in both Turkish and Arabic. The website includes videos, sound recordings and information notes on 26 different topics. Thanks to our Information and Support Line, help is one phone call or click away for the people in need.
These activities are funded under a project that aims to increase refugees’ access to services and their rights, including protection activities for refugees at risk. These activities are implemented by Supported to Life in partnership with the Germany-based humanitarian organization Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe thanks to funding from European Union Humanitarian Aid.
