Within the scope of the European Union funded  "Rebuilding Life for Earthquake-Affected People" project,  Support to Life Association supported more than 11 thousand people in 11 months.

Humanitarian needs continue in the earthquake-stricken regions of Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Adıyaman due to ongoing infrastructure problems, economic problems and protection risks. Support to Life Association responds to these needs with a holistic approach in cooperation with its stakeholders and donors.

The project, which was launched in May 2024 as the implementing partner of our strategic partner Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe and with the funding of the European Union, ended in April. As of the end of March, we provided services to 11,882 people on protection, psychosocial support and access to basic services.

In the post-disaster recovery process, Support to Life Association  focus on the basic needs of those affected by the earthquake, providing support to a wide range of people, from children and women to refugee communities and disadvantaged groups.

  • 1,715 people benefited from information sessions on access to rights, judicial support mechanisms and gender equality.
  • 98 women were supported with special needs funds for survivors of gender-based violence.
  • 754 people received individual case management support. 182 of these were women affected by gender-based violence.
  • 293 people received individual psychological support. 30% of these people were referred to external services for further psychiatric support.
  • 3,539 people participated in psychoeducation sessions aimed at increasing mental resilience.
  • 1,638 people were referred to public and non-governmental organizations to access different services.
  • 2,218 support requests were responded to through the Support to Life Information and Support Line.
  • 4,338 people received three months of multi-purpose cash support.
  • 1,069 new clients were identified through needs assessments and included in the support process.

While medium and long-term needs continue in the disaster area, Support to Life will continue to support those affected by the earthquake, leaving no one behind.
